Use the AgRemote program (available here) to set up your Ag114 receiver for your OmniSTAR activation.

1. Use AgRemote, after connecting to the receiver the rest of the procedure is the same as the Trimble Ag132 above.
2. From the HOME SCREEN press the RIGHT ARROW key until you access the CONFIGURATION screen.
3. Press DOWN ARROW key to enter these screens
4. Press RIGHT ARROW key until you access the DGPS CONFIGURATION screen.
5. Press DOWN ARROW key until DGPS SOURCE screen appears.
6. Choose SATELLITE ONLY
7. Press ENTER key
8. Press DOWN ARROW key until EZ SAT: screen appears.
9. Use arrow keys to set provider to OMNI
10. Press ENTER key
11. Use arrow keys to choose the correct satellite for your area. For a list of satellite frequencies, click here.
12. Press ENTER key
13. Press DOWN ARROW key until SATELLITE FREQ screen appears.
14. This will list the frequency of the DGPS satellite you specified in the EZ SAT: field. Press DOWN ARROW key until SATELLITE BAUD RATE screen appears.
15. This should update to the Data Rate of the satellite you specified in the EZ SAT: field. Press DOWN ARROW key until prompted to exit DGPS CONFIG. screen.
16. Press ENTER key to exit.
17. After changing the frequency, restore the settings of Port A to Port output NMEA baudrate 9600,8,N,1.
18. The program will reply an error message: “Lost communications with the receiver check cables”
19. Allow 30-45 minutes to get the system to work during the activation process

OmniSTAR must then send an activation code (RSOC-type) over the satellite to the unit. When received, it will display RESET BY OMNI ACTIVATION, PLEASE HIT ENTER TO CONTINUE. It can take up to 30 minutes for activation to be complete. It is important that the system be left on until the receiver positions differentially.

To check that activation was successful:

1. Connect to AgRemote

4. Use RIGHT ARROW key, access the DGPS SCREEN

8. Press DOWN ARROW key and DGPS DATA SOURCE should read correct REFERENCE STATION ID.
9. Press DOWN ARROW key and screen should display AGE of DGPS and AGE of SYNC.
10. Press DOWN ARROW key until Omni*SERVICE INFO appears
11. Press ENTER key to access this screen.
12. Use ENTER key to scroll through the screens for status of the OmniStar subscription activation noting USER ENABLED and STOP DATE.
13. Use ARROW keys to display HOME SCREEN.
14. The HOME SCREEN will display on the top line, the type of position recorded. THE letter G will be replaced as a D when the receiver starts computing differentially corrected positions. The second line should display the DGPS satellite frequency.
15. After changing the frequency, restore the settings of Port A to Port output NMEA baudrate 9600,8,N,1.
16. The program will reply an error message: “Lost communications with the receiver check cables”

To change to a satellite frequency that already exists in the EZ SAT list, follow the instructions above for Activation Set-up.

To change to a new satellite frequency that may not be in the EZ SAT list, follow the instructions below:

16. Allow 30-45 minutes to get the system to work during the activation process

OmniSTAR must then send an activation code (RSOC-type) over the satellite to the unit. When received, it will display RESET BY OMNI ACTIVATION, PLEASE HIT ENTER TO CONTINUE. It can take up to 30 minutes for activation to be complete. It is important that the system be left on until the receiver positions differentially.

To check that activation was successful:

1. From the HOME SCREEN press the RIGHT ARROW key until you access the STATUS screen.
2. Press DOWN ARROW key to enter these screens
3. Use RIGHT ARROW key, access the DGPS SCREEN
4. Press DOWN ARROW key.
5. First screen should display Satellite Frequency and S/N of the satellite signal-noise ratio and the strength of the differential satellite lock.
6. Press DOWN ARROW key and screen should display Omni as SERVICE PROVIDER.
7. Press DOWN ARROW key and DGPS DATA SOURCE should read correct REFERENCE STATION ID.
8. Press DOWN ARROW key and screen should display AGE of DGPS and AGE of SYNC.
9. Press DOWN ARROW key until Omni*SERVICE INFO appears
10. Press ENTER key to access this screen.
11. Use ENTER key to scroll through the screens for status of the OmniStar subscription activation noting USER ENABLED and STOP DATE.
12. Use ARROW keys to display HOME SCREEN.
13. The HOME SCREEN will display on the top line, the type of position recorded. THE letter G will be replaced as a D when the receiver starts computing differentially corrected positions. The second line should display the DGPS satellite frequency.

To change to a satellite frequency that already exists in the EZ SAT list, follow the instructions above for Activation Set-up.

To change to a new satellite frequency that may not be in the EZ SAT list, follow the instructions below:

11. Press ENTER key
12. Press DOWN ARROW key until SATELLITE BAUD screen appears.
13. Press RIGHT ARROW key
14. Use UP ARROW and DOWN ARROW keys to select the correct baud rate for your area. For a list of satellite frequencies and baud rates, click here.
15. Press ENTER key to exit.

Connect the serial cable to the Port on the receiver not used by your guidance system. Connect receiver to PC and run AgRemote software:

1. Press the ESCAPE button until the “Home” screen appears.
2. Press “>” RIGHT button until the “Configuration” screen appears.
3. Press the “V” DOWN button once, a screen similar to below appears.
4. Press the > RIGHT button until the “DGPS Config” screen.
5. Press the V DOWN button until the “Satellite Freq” appears.
6. Press the > RIGHT button for the cursor to flash on the first digit.
7. Press the V DOWN and UP buttons to change the digits. Press the > RIGHT button to move on to the next digit until the desired frequency is displayed eg. 1535.1850 MHz.
8. Press the ENTER button to lock in the new frequency. The cursor will disappear from the screen.

To check that your Pathfinder Power activation was successful:

1. Press the ESC button until the “Home” screen appears.
2. After changing the frequency, restore the settings of Port A to Port output NMEA baud rate 9600, 8, N, 1.
3. The program will reply an error message: “Lost communications with the receiver check cables”.

12. This will list the frequency of the DGPS satellite you specified in the EZ SAT: Field
13. Press DOWN ARROW button until “SATELLITE BAUD RATE” screen appears.
14. This should update to the Data Rate of the satellite you specified in the EZ SAT: Field
15. Press DOWN ARROW button until prompted to exit “DGPS CONFIG” or “Exit Menu” screen.
16. Press ENTER” button to exit.

OmniSTAR must then send an activation code over the satellite to the receiver. When received, it will display “RESET BY OMNI ACTIVATION”, please hit ENTER button to continue. It can take up to 30 minutes for activation to be complete. It is important that the system is switched on until the receiver positions differentially.

To check your ProXRS if the activation was successful:

1. Use RIGHT ARROW button, access the “DGPS SCREEN”.
2. Press DOWN ARROW button.
3. First screen should display Satellite Frequency and S/N of the satellite signal-noise ratio and the strength of the differential satellite lock.
4. Press DOWN ARROW button and screen should display Omni as “SERVICE PROVIDER”.
5. Press DOWN ARROW button and “DGPS DATA SOURCE” should read the correct “REFERENCE STATION ID”.
6. Press DOWN ARROW button and screen should display AGE of DGPS and AGE of SYNC.
7. Press DOWN ARROW button until “OMNI*SERVICE INFO” appears.
8. Press ENTER button to access this screen.
9. Press ENTER button to scroll through the screens for status of the OmniSTAR subscription activation noting “USER ENABLED” and next screen “STOP DATE”, and some more information about Omnistar.
10. Use both ARROW buttons to display HOME SCEEN (press both arrow buttons three times at the same time).

The HOME SCREEN will display on the top line, the type of position recorded. The letter G will be replaced as a D when the receiver starts computing differentially corrected positions. The second line should display the DGPS satellite frequency. This may take up to 30 minutes to indicate receiver is in differential mode even though the OmniSTAR activation shows enabled.

1. Connect the computer to Port B and run AgRemote.
2. Press the ESCAPE button until the “Home” screen appears.
3. Press RIGHT ARROW button until the “Configuration” screen appears.
4. Press the DOWN ARROW button once.
5. Press the RIGHT ARROW button until the “DGPS Config” screen.
6. Press the DOWN ARROW button until the “Satellite Freq” appears.
7. Press the RIGHT ARROW button for the cursor to flash on the first digit.
8. Press the DOWN and UP ARROW buttons to change the digits.
9. Press the RIGHT ARROW button to move on to the next digit until the desired frequency is displayed eg. 1535.1850 MHz.
10. Press the ENTER button to lock in the new frequency. The cursor will disappear from the screen.
11. CHECK THE FREQUENCY ON YOUR RECEIVER IS ENTERED IN CORRECTLY.
12. Press the ESC button until the “Home” screen appears.
