OmniSTAR Subscription Activation Setup

Hemisphere GPS Eclipse, A221 and R220 Firmware Version 4.9O

Power on your Hemisphere GPS receiver
Confirm the OmniStar HP application is running:

Eclipse Based receivers:
Part Number: 160-0267-000
File Name: EclipseOmniHP_v49O

Select the correct OmniSTAR regional spot beam:

A221, R220 receivers: L-Band > Configure > Mode > Auto
Other Eclipse receivers, via a terminal program, send (last character is a zero): $JFREQ,0

Locate the GPS serial number:

A221, R220 Series: System Setup > Software Display > S/N 1801234
Other Eclipse, send: $JI
The first number in the example below is the serial number required for OmniSTAR activation:
$>JI,1801234,1,3,08052008,04/07/2008,12/31/2018,3.5,31

Ensure the antenna has a clear sky view to receive the activation signal from OmniSTAR.
Ensure receiver is powered on.
Contact your local OmniSTAR office Customer Service Technician. Give them the GPS serial number.
Please note the receiver MUST stay powered on and tracking satellites during the activation process. Successful activation could take up to 30 minutes to complete.

To check that activation was successful:

Ensure the Hemisphere GPS receiver is powered on and tracking satellites.
Locate the subscription information:

A221, R220 receivers: L-Band > Subscription > End
Other Eclipse receivers, send: $JOMS
The bold number in the example below is the end date for the OmniSTAR subscription:
$>JOMS,HP,4,HP,0,01/06/1980,06/30/2019,0,0,1A,HP 5.10

To ensure proper operation, contact your local OmniSTAR office Customer Service Technician prior to the end date given to renew your activation.
