OmniSTAR offers a quick, efficient subscription initialization and renewal service available 24 hours a day.
There are three levels of OmniSTAR service available - VBS (Virtual Base Station) for sub-meter operations, OmniSTAR XP - consistent decimeter service (< +/- 15 cms) worldwide, and OmniSTAR HP (High Performance) for horizontal accuracy of better than 10cms.
OmniSTAR subscriptions are available for a range of receivers from GPS manufacturers such as HemisphereGPS™, NovAtel™, Topcon™, Trimble™, Raven™, etc. These receivers provide the core GPS engine for many applications including agricultural auto-steer, GIS/Mapping, airborne surveys, and autonomous vehicle operations.
OmniSTAR Subscription Activation Guidelines
OmniSTAR also provides Subscriptions to certain DGPS Receivers and systems from Ag Leader™, Case IH™, AutoFarm™, and others. Some may have special requirements. To subscribe to those products, call OmniSTAR Customer Service for information (1-888-666-4782, or 713-785-5850)

A
special toll-free line, 1-888-883-8476, will be answered
by an OmniSTAR Customer Service Technician. They will
ask for the model number and serial number of your
receiver. They will also inquire whether you will
pay by credit card or Purchase Order (for rated firms).
All major Credit Cards are accepted. To activate your receiver, you must have your unit locked in to our satellite.
This will require that the
proper satellite frequency also be selected.
The
technician will advise you as to the approximate time
the subscription will be transmitted, usually within
15 minutes. The first time a unit is put into service
or after a long period of storage, it may take up
to 30 minutes for the receiver to accumulate all the
required information from the OmniSTAR and GPS satellites.
If you wish, the technician will delay the transmission
for a period of time to allow the user to put his
unit into service.
New
subscriptions will be for a period of one calendar
year. Renewal subscriptions will be added to existing
subscriptions (an extension). That allows for renewals
to take place prior to the expiration of the current
subscription, without penalty.
If
an owner of an OmniSTAR-supported product needs a fast initial
subscription, after hours, they can still call the
same Customer Service number (1-888-883-8476) which
will be answered by the OmniSTAR Satellite Uplink
operator. Providing the operator with a valid Serial
number, the user can be given a 72-hour subscription.
That will cover any night and weekend emergencies.
The user will have to call in with the usual procedures
on the next working day.

Trimble Ag GPS 252, AgGPS 332, DSM 232 - Subscription
Activation Setup These units are subscribed over-the-air. The Trimble Manual explains the process in detail, and it must be followed exactly. If it is an initial subscription to a new unit, the receiver may take up to 30 minutes to receive all the data it needs from both OmniSTAR and the GPS satellites. If you have a problem subscribing, our Customer Service Technicians will assist you.
Trimble
Pro XRS- Subscription
Activation Setup Subscriptions
for the Pro XRS are received over-the-air. The Trimble Manual explains
the procedure, which must be followed exactly. The
difference between this and the Ag GPS 132 is that
the expiration date is not currently displayed. Our
Customer Service Technicians have experience in subscribing
these units and are happy to assist you.
NovAtel ProPak
Activation Setup These units are subscribed over-the-air. The NovAtel Manual explains the process and it must be followed exactly. If it is an initial subscription to a new unit, the receiver may take up to 30 minutes to receive all the data it needs from both OmniSTAR and the GPS satellites. If you have a problem subscribing, our Customer Service Technicians will assist you.
Note: AN OmniSTAR user wishing to take a unit to another Geographic Area must call OmniSTAR to authorize their receiver for the new area. This should be done from the U.S. (or country of origin) prior to leaving.
